NEWS | UDRRMC organize Fire Safety Seminar and Drill for CLSU community

The University Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) of Science City of Muñoz, organized a seminar and drill on fire safety on August 20, 2025, at CLSU Auditorium, Central Luzon State University, Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.

The activity aimed to educate the CLSU community on fire safety and preparedness. Resource speakers from the Science City of Muñoz Fire Station, FO2 Melvin Jumel B. Dacumos, FO2 Mary Ann G. Mongaya, FO2 Abraham M. Vicencio and FO1 Ira Mikaela R. Rigos, shared their expertise and emphasized the importance of collective efforts in ensuring fire safety through regular inspections and maintenance of fire safety equipment, performing fire drills, and having evacuation and escape plans. The speaker also discussed practical tips on how to avoid common causes of fires, such as unplugging electrical appliances when not in use, never leaving cooking appliances unattended, and avoiding smoking indoors.

The partnership between CLSU and BFP underscores the importance of collaboration and cooperation in promoting disaster preparedness and resilience in the community.
