TAKBO Para sa Kalikasan: Project KOLEKTS – A Run for a Greener Future
The Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Management and the University Gender and Development Office collaborated for the community gathered with excitement for “TAKBO para sa Kalikasan – Project Kolekts,” a fun run dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and encouraging everyone to help protect nature. Participants tied their shoes, sacks ready, filled with energy and purpose, ready to run not just for fitness but for the environment.
Dr. Abella heightened the importance of solid waste management and attaining a sustainable environment. Also, encourage everyone to always be aware of the concept of reduce, repurpose, refurbish and recycle of waste.
The activity highlighted the importance of caring for our planet one step, one run, one action at a time. After the race, the pair of Ms. Francine Miles G. Fernandez and Mr. John Angel Mejia Reigh Cruz was Awarded as Winners brought cheers and celebration as outstanding runners and collectors were recognized for their effort and enthusiasm.
More than medals, everyone went home with a meaningful reminder: small steps today can lead to a greener future. Takbo para sa Kalikasan proved that together, we can make a difference while having fun and building a stronger community.
